Did you know...?

-The WHA's 2020 Online Conference drew over 1,200 registrants! This made it the largest WHA conference in history.

-WHA membership boomed in 2020, from around 1,060 to over 1,400 members! We believe this is a signal to the historical profession that the Western History Association offers its members and conference attendees access to the top scholars in the field, fosters growth for up-and-coming history professionals, and supports all kinds of western history activities--including teaching, research, service, public engagement, and professional development.

In the past several years the WHA conference has rapidly grown in attendance and program content. Our attendees are diverse in their professions, specialties, and career stages, representing graduate and undergraduate students, independent and professional historians, public historians, writers, editors, higher education administrators, K-12 Educators, and other professions. By sharing your message through our ads and exhibits options, you can connect with WHA conference attendees and membership!

The WHA offers some of the lowest rates for advertising and exhibiting at professional meetings and is free of hidden costs. We offer complimentary coffee breaks in the exhibits ballroom on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, which is a perfect way to network with exhibitors and hold meetings with potential authors. We also pride ourselves in offering the profession with one of the most friendly, inclusive, and diverse gatherings for the study of history in the country!

Direct your questions about Ads and Exhibits to Paige Mitchell in the WHA Office at and we ask that you review the WHA's "Best Practices for Ads and Exhibits" (see below).

As and Advertiser and Exhibitor, please adhere to the WHA's "Best Practices for Ads and Exhibits" that are applicable to the service you purchase:

-All advertising orders are final.

-Full payments are due upon reservation. If you request an invoice, payment is due 30 days after you receive the invoice.

-All artwork is due April 15 for guaranteed placement in the WHA printed program.

-Ad space is limited and requests will be made in the order they are received.

-All exhibitors at booths are required to register for the conference. Each single booth receives two complimentary registrations (double booth = 4; triple booth = 6). Please contact the WHA to register:

-All conference attendees, including exhibitors, must adhere to the WHA's Code of Conduct and Enforcement Policy.

-Exhibitors who plan to hold author signings should alert the WHA ahead of time so the staff can help promote the event through its social media platforms.

-All authors signing books at exhibit booths must be registered attendees of the WHA Conference.

-It is the responsibility of exhibitors to contact SS&G to rent their booth furniture.
