During the pandemic the WHA membership boomed in 2020, growing from 1,060 members to over 1,400. We believe this is a signal to the historical profession that the WHA offers its members and conference attendees access to the top scholars in the field, fosters growth for up-and-coming history professionals, and supports all kinds of western history activities--including teaching, research, service, public engagement, and professional development.

Why Advertise/Exhibit at the WHA?

  • Affordable! The WHA offers some of the lowest rates for advertising and exhibiting at professional meetings and is free of hidden costs.
  • Coffee! The WHA schedules complimentary coffee breaks in the exhibits ballroom on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings.
  • Receptions! The WHA intentionally schedules large receptions in the exhibits hall on Thursday and Friday, which is a perfect way to network with conference attendees and hold meetings with potential authors.
  • Friendly! The WHA prides itself in offering the profession with one of the most friendly, inclusive, and diverse gatherings for the study of history in the country!
