On a morning after probably the longest day of the tour, all had found a place to have breakfast and prepare themselves for the day's adventure. All had placed their luggage at the assigned location for the ferrying service to transport and met at the rendezvous point for briefing and a photo op. The temperature was 42 degrees this morning and riding in the shade did not make it any warmer. Jessica kindly volunteered to be the sweep again for which I am thankful. I was holding a moderate pace so as to not have the group so spread apart. The regrouping points again were 8 miles apart. Some had stopped at a veggie/fruit stand just short of the regrouping point causing a bit of confusion. There was not much in wildlife to be seen, only about 5 wild turkeys and something crossing the trail only to turn around and go back into the woods after I rang my bell. Continuing to the next regrouping point some had stopped to view the site and take some photos before heading to lunch. Some had stopped at Martins while others had gone into Connellsville to find a place to get their lunch. We ate our lunch at the Connellsville Park and was also the meetup point. Two riders fell at the same moment dismounting at the park on soft unstable, ground, one scraping their knee, the other stating they had no problem. One rider had fender problems and later removed their rear fender. By the way, the ride leader misplaced the bike lock key which had 4 bikes locked only to find it was where he placed it after the lock was cut (as is always the case).
After lunch we continued to Ohiopyle. Once all were settled, we went to Falls City Pub for dinner before retiring.
