The Western Historical Quarterly (WHQ) is the official journal of the Western History Association (WHA). The journal presents original, peer-reviewed articles on the North American West, broadly defined, across a variety of historical fields and topics, time periods, and geographies.

Articles undergo rigorous peer review and appear online as part of JSTOR’s Current Scholarship Program. Back issues can be found online through most libraries on JSTOR and Ebsco Host.
