The Nominating Committee requests your assistance in creating a strong slate of candidates to govern the Western History Association.
The Nominating Committee will accept nominations from WHA members for President-Elect, the Council, and the Nominating Committee until the deadline onFebruary 15, 2025 (midnight EST).
This year, the WHA will elect one President-Elect, two Council members, and three Nominating Committee members. Self-nominations from WHA members are welcome.
According to the WHA Constitution and Bylaws, only current WHA members can make nominations.WHA Members may submit more than one nomination for each of the positions.

The Nominating Committee recognizes the importance of the WHA Code of Professional Conductto the WHA process of collecting and deliberating nominations.
The WHA Council meets formally twice a year: once in the spring, usually at the OAH annual meeting, and once in the fall at the WHA annual meeting. In the case of urgent business, Council will hold a virtual meeting. Council members may attend a mandatory meeting online if travel costs are prohibitive. The Nominating Committee holds virtual meetings.
Nominations should be sent using one of the following procedures:
1. Preferred method for submitting nominations: Submit your nomination(s) ONLINE through the link below. Only current WHA members can make nominations.
2. Optional/Secondary method for submitting nominations: Submit your nomination(s) by EMAILING any member of the Nominating Committee up to the February 15 deadline (see contact information below).
Please do not "Reply To" this email as your nomination(s) will not be automatically sent to the Nominating Committee.
